Vending machine suppliers in Dubai: how to compare them.

Search for vending machine suppliers in Dubai and you get a long list of names with very different business models behind them. This guide sorts them into four categories, explains what you actually get from each, and gives you the ten questions we would ask any supplier, including ourselves.

Before you compare

A supplier list is not a comparison

Most supplier lists for Dubai mix four very different things: companies that import and sell coil machines, coffee operators that rent machines to offices, operators that place machines for free and keep the revenue, and distributors of smart, glass-door cabinets. The right choice depends on one question first: do you want to run a vending business, or do you want a vending service at your site? If the second, look at coffee and free-placement operators. If the first, you are buying or renting equipment, and the comparison below is for you.

A disclosure up front: Moi Store is the Türkiye and Gulf distributor of Selfly Store smart cabinets, so we sit in the fourth category. We have tried to describe the other three fairly; they solve real problems, just different ones.

Four categories

What each type of supplier actually sells you

Coil / spiral machine importersNew or refurbished snack, drink and combo machines, mostly manufactured abroad and importedYou buy the machine; optional service contractOperators who want the lowest entry price and sell only packaged snacks and cansSpare parts and technician availability in the UAE; payment terminal certified with a local acquirer
Coffee and office-refreshment operatorsBean-to-cup or capsule machines placed in offices, usually with consumablesRental or per-cup pricing; the operator owns and services the machineCompanies that want coffee for staff without running anything themselvesMinimum monthly volumes; exclusivity clauses; what happens to the machine if you end the contract

Smart RFID cabinet distributorsGlass-door cabinets that open with a card or phone, count items by RFID and report every sale to the cloudPurchase or rental; software subscription; you or a partner operate itFresh food, multi-item baskets, hotels, offices and campuses that want data and remote managementItem tagging workflow; software fees; local installation and support presence
Smart vs coil

The real difference is not the screen, it is the door

A coil machine drops one drop-proof item per transaction and knows nothing about what is inside until someone opens it. A smart cabinet opens its door when a card is tapped; the customer takes what they want, closes the door, and RFID readers count exactly what left. That single change is what allows fresh sandwiches, salads, glass bottles, ice cream and even towels or electronics in the same unit, several items in one payment, and live stock and expiry data in your phone.

It also changes the economics: the cabinet costs more than a coil machine, the basket is larger, and the operator drives to the site when the data says so rather than on a fixed schedule. Whether that trade is worth it depends on your product mix and how many sites you plan to run. Indicative price bands for both types are on the price guide.

How RFID cabinets work

Free placement

Should you buy a machine or accept a free one?

Free placement is a fair deal for a site that wants a service: no investment, no operations, a machine that simply appears and gets refilled. The price of that convenience is control. The operator chooses the products and prices, decides how often to restock, and keeps the revenue; the site typically receives nothing or a small commission. If your building has strong footfall and you would rather own the revenue, buying or renting your own cabinet turns the same square metre into a business. The maths for both routes is in our UAE vending business guide.

Checklist

Ten questions to ask any vending machine supplier in Dubai

Ask these of every supplier, including us. The answers separate a machine seller from a partner you can run a fleet with.

  1. Where are the machines built, and who holds spare parts inside the UAE?
  2. Is the card reader certified with a UAE acquirer, and who owns the merchant account: you or the supplier?
  3. What is the delivered-and-installed price, including VAT, customs and the payment terminal?
  4. How long is the warranty, and what is the on-site response time in Dubai versus other emirates?
  5. Can I see live stock, sales and temperature remotely, and who owns that data?
  6. Can the machine sell fresh, chilled or frozen food, or only drop-proof packaged items?
  7. What exactly does the monthly software or service fee cover, and can I cancel it?
  8. Do you offer rental, and can rental convert to purchase?
  9. Who does installation, training and the first product setup?
  10. Can I speak to an existing customer in the UAE running the same model for at least a year?

How Moi Store answers the same questions

Cabinets are manufactured in Finland by Selfly Store, a Stora Enso company, and delivered and supported from Istanbul; installation is included and we help with the first product setup. Payment runs through card terminals integrated with the cabinet, and the operator owns the merchant relationship. Every sale, stock level, temperature and expiry date is visible in the cloud panel, and the data belongs to the operator. Rental is available and can convert to purchase. We also run our own cabinets in Istanbul, so the advice you get comes from operating the product, not only selling it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the vending machine suppliers in Dubai?

They fall into four categories: importers of coil and combo machines, coffee and office-refreshment operators, free-placement operators who stock machines and keep the revenue, and distributors of smart RFID cabinets. Compare them by model first, then by brand.

What is the best vending machine supplier in the UAE?

There is no single best; it depends on whether you want a service at your site or a business you run. For a service, a free-placement or coffee operator. For a business selling packaged snacks only, a coil-machine importer with local spare parts. For fresh food, multi-item baskets and remote management, a smart cabinet distributor with installation and support in the region.

Do vending suppliers in Dubai offer free placement?

Some operators do, usually for sites with strong footfall. The site pays nothing and controls nothing; the operator sets products and prices and keeps the revenue. It is a good fit for buildings that want convenience rather than income.

How much do vending machines cost from Dubai suppliers?

Publicly listed prices for new coil snack or drink machines typically fall between AED 9,000 and 25,000, combo machines between AED 18,000 and 35,000, and used machines from around AED 3,500. Smart RFID cabinets are quoted per project by temperature class. Always ask for the delivered-and-installed price.

Do I need a licence to operate vending machines in the UAE?

Yes. Operating vending machines requires a valid trade licence, and food items bring municipality food-safety requirements. Rules differ by emirate and free zone; confirm the specifics with the relevant economic department and municipality before launch.
